Fancy Dress Party.

At each event we have had this year I am amazed and impressed by the number of members attending,
each event memorable and fun. This year Fancy Dress do was inspirational to say the least.

First, I would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to Glenys’ dad, David, for having us in his
home. He was a little anxious but joined in the fun, dressing up and making everyone welcome.
No damage was done so thanks to our members, junior and senior.

The effort members went too to dress up was fantastic.

I went dressed as a member of the world’s best rat club, and when I walked into the house I
thought I had walked onto the Ratatouille movie set. Remy was there in chef’s hat and the Restaurant a la
Rattie was magnificent. Complete with kitchen utensils, kitchen equipment, menu’s and staff filling all the
necessary positions such Maitre de, Head chef, Sous chef and others all too cute and delicious to take in
with one viewing. The more you looked the more you saw. Congratulations Wendy on such a great effort.
We are hoping Wendy will decorate the cage for the Royal.

Then there was a Hollywood star, complete with tooting horn, none other than Harpo Marx
(AKA Anne C). He/she entertained everyone with comic antics us older members would remember from
the many Marx Brothers movies.

There was the scary Mrs Lovitt (from the story Sweeney Todd Demon Barber of Fleet Street AKA Briget C).

The Wicked Witch from the West paid a visit Accompanied by a very “rattie”  black spider, but kept her
evil spells to a minimum (AKA Glenys) and the Hunchback from Notre Dame was rather sweet and
not so scary (AKA Dave)

The Goths were well represented with black cloaks and high boots (Natasha, Janelle and Peter),
along with a really scary Skeleton (Justin)

A little Wizard (Caleb) paid a visit but was more interested in the food and not wanting to scare anyone
left his cloak and hat in his pram for most of the day.

We had a cowgirl whose horse had slipped its bridle Ann S, a bright pink dancing girl shedding sequins
everywhere Eliza), Christine from Phantom of the Opera (Hannah) with a head of hair I am glad I do not
have to brush each day.

The door bell was rung by a police person asking if anyone could identify the bandit apprehended outside
carrying a bag full of money. (Debbie and Sam)

Then the surprise arrival of the day, an ever so handsome Prince Charming (Ian) escorting Cinderella, (Julie)
and her two, not so gorgeous, step sisters. The sisters were Mitchell and James and didn’t they enjoy
playing their brilliant roles. Cinderella’s dress was a thing of beauty made especially for the occasion and
Prince Charming, well what can I say, just tooooooo charming for words.

I mustn’t forget ratties who, in some cases, reluctantly dressed up as chefs, chain saw killers, bats, the
horse who slipped his bridle but was still wearing his saddle and then there were those who would not lower
their standards and refused to dress up at all but all gorgeous none the less.

Thank you to all those who dressed up and made this event so much fun. If other groups knew what fun
we have they would go green with envy.
