This show was held at Debbie’s house in Sunbury. The weather
was cool but fine which was great for the dad’s who cooked
the BBQ lunch.
Attendance was terrific and we welcomed new members the
Cameron family Brian, Julie, and juniors Melissa and Elena.
Brian and Richard cooked lunch and did a sterling job,
thanks gents. The ladies of the committee provided salads
and desserts so there was plenty of food with drinks for
later in the day. Jacquie brought a surprise for members
and they were so cute, little meringue mice, too nice to eat
really but enjoyed just the same.
Vebica was able to get a ride and join the happy crowd and
it was fantastic to see her again.
Debbie started judging about 1pm with junior members
assisting in stewarding both in writing scores and making
sure all contestants were at the judging table in the
correct order. Well done to the juniors as they are our
judges of the future. The judging mats are a huge success
with no ratties getting upset or nervous while they were
being judged. The junior presentations were made just after
the lunch break and so on to the seniors. Our presentations
were made late in the afternoon due to the large number of
entries, presentations being made around 6pm.
Ian and Julie were supposed to come and when Julie rang to
say she wasn’t able to make it we were all disappointed. It
was Julie’s birthday the day before and we had a birthday
cake, presents and everything. She was really sick, didn’t
want to infect everyone and was so upset. We all gathered
around Glenys’ phone and in our sweetest voices sang happy
birthday, blowing out the candle on Julie’s behalf. One
funny note though, Julie had her years slightly muddled
thinking she turned 40 this year. In actual fact she is only
a young 39. Never mind Julie, you can start counting
backwards from next year. The cake was delicious and thanks
to Glenys for “baking” it!!!!!!!!!
The day was most enjoyable and relaxing. We really know who
to have a good time when we get together. One notable
absence was the Green family but we hope they will be back
with us soon with Jackie “meeting and greeting” and Steve
with his “Lucky dips a dollar” voice back in action. We do
miss you all.
Thanks to Debbie for allowing us all to invade your home,
thanks to those who brought the delicious fare, thanks to
all who helped pack up, wash dishes and hopefully we left
Debbie’s house in same condition as we found it, neat and
tidy. Congratulations to all winners and mostly to our
ratties without whom the day would not be nearly as much
fun.
