The story:
2 rats were bought for a young boy as a present. Turns out they were male and female *rolls eyes*

Ofcourse they started breeding, and when there were too many for the 1 cage, the parents decided to release them into the garage (an old dairy shed)

They continued breeding and breeding, when the numbers got too high, they decided putting some RatSak down was a good idea to get rid of them! *gasp*

When ofcourse the numbers started rising again they contacted a girl named Jade (who put posters up in her area for rat rescue) and said that if she didn't take them off their hands they would put more RatSak down again.

I took all the young ones she had today, approx 9 boys and 9 girls.

Very similar situation to end of last year.

They are shy, but are warming up quickly, all they need is a little one on one time with there new adoptive families.

I you all you guys at the club are still busy with all the rescues you guys got last year but, i thought i would just let everyone know incase anyone can squeeze in a couple of extra fuzz balls.

They are all hoodies, mostly black, a couple of dove and agouti, and 1 little argente girl.
There are still 2 nursing females at the lady's house whom rescued them, between them there are 24 babies about 2-3 weeks old. All are black hoodeds.
There are STILL some running around the garage where they were living so there will probably be more rescues to come.

Any help is much appreciated, even if you can get the word out that would be great.

Cheers

Ingie

Hi guys/gals,

Am a newbie to the group, but certainly not to ratties (and may have unwittingly met some of you at the Pet day out at Footscray the other week). Can't promise anything at this stage, but am waiting for my house to finish being built in the next few weeks and am also looking around for a good quality rat cage. If there are still ratties looking for homes by then I may be able to be of assistance.

I can't make any promises at this stage, as I don't know an exact time frame of when I will be rat-ready and I certainly need ratties at this point that I can bond with easily (had a lot of rescues before I moved to Australia, and losing so many fur-babies in a short space of time has left me a bit tender, so have only just recently found the courage to open up again), but I am certainly not adverse to taking in rescues as my fur-family, whether they are young, or full grown.
